Vintage Noritake sugar bowl with lid in the classic Azalea design. The marking on this bowl was in use from approximately the early 1920s up to 1940. The Azalea pattern is one of the prettiest and most desirable of all their designs. Beautifully hand painted in soft shades of pinks, greens and grays and finished with gold trim. A lovely collector's piece.

Mark: Letter "M as in "Morimura" surrounded by a wreath, crowned by "Noritake" in capitals and below also in capitals, Hand painted and Made in Japan - all in green ink.

Condition is very good. Very minor wear to gold trim. One tiny area of paint loss in one of the front flowers. No chips or cracks.

Size: 5.5" hand to handle measuring across the top x 3.5" diameter across the bottom x 2.75" tall without lid.
